Early highway map of California and Nevada. U.S. Route 48, U.S. Route 80, and Nevada State Route 24 are among the obsolete or later renumbered highways that appear on the map.
In an advertisement for the defunct company Sunset Gasoline, five gas stations in the Imperial Valley are listed. The back panel features an illustrated "history" of transportation, from a loin-clothed pedestrian, through travel by horse, ox-wagon, covered wagon, chariot, penny farthing, steamship, train, plane, and automobile.
