Description

This antique map of Siberia and Central Asia is a scarce Russian-language mapping of the area focusing on its ethnographic groups according to the late 19th-century understanding. The map was published in Leipzig by Friedrich Arnold Brockhaus around 1890, the map is written in Russian, which is unusual for maps of this region and time period.

The main image of the map shows separates the lands occupied by Kyrgyz, Turkmens, Tatars, etc. The map is surrounded by many vignette images related to the ethnic groups covered by the map.

The map includes interesting data on the some of the more remote ethnic groups within the Russian empire in the late-19th century.

Condition Description
Mostly marginal dampstain and foxing. Top edge with remnants of binding linen.
