Description

Interesting map of Southern California, with a magnifying glass superimposed over Downtown Los Angeles, published by National Travel Services, whose location in downtown LA is shown on the map.

The map forms part of a larger tourism and promotional brochure for visitors to the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition in San Diego.  Advertisers for Hotels, Apartments, Restaurants and various other attractions ring the primary map image, promoting LA's Theaters, Yosemite's Curry Village, Mt. Lowe, the LA Ostrich Farm, Horse Racing  and a host of other advertisements intended to appeal to the out of town traveller, likely arriving by train from east of the Rocky Mountains.

The map verso includes a second 1934 William Eddy map graphic, with similar promotional and advertising information.
