Description

Fascinating pictorial map of Alaska showing the escapades of Buck, the canine hero from Jack London's The Call of the Wild. This map displays the many towns and features mentioned in London's novel and locates several of the most important events.

An attractive compass rose is included, which includes a husky, a totem pole, and a fish all decorated in a style following Pacific Northwest design. In addition, Buck's most famous scenes are shown, such as his encounter with indigenous tribes and his famous fight with Spitz over which of the dogs would control the pack of huskies.

Everett Henry was an American illustrator whose other artwork credits include The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn From the Book by Mark Twain, a similar thematic map and historical montage. In all, this is a delightful pictorial map based on the classic turn-of-the-century novel.
