Description

Vintage Bird's Eye View of Downtown Washington, D.C.

Interesting and rare bird's eye view of downtown Washington, D.C., "prepared and published in Madrid in 1965-1966".

This large isometric view is in the vein of Turgot, Blondel La Rougery, and Bollman.

In the lower right corner, the view includes a key: "The main Federal Buildings, Monuments and Museums in the District are colored blue."; and a star denotes "Buildings, streets and parks whose design had not been decided upon the time of the printing of this map."

This is the first example of the map that we have handled and the first that we have seen on the market.

OCLC notes five examples (LOC, University of Alabama, George Mason, Yale, and BNE).
