Viktor Semenovich Ivanov was a Soviet poster artist who worked for the TASS agency, who is best known for his images of Lenin.

Among his posters is the well known "Lenin lived, Lenin lives, Lenin will live forever".

Ivanov was considered to be a master of political posters.  He was also both a painter and film artist. Ivanov graduated from the Moscow State Technical College of Fine Arts in 1929, studying under the workshop of Dmitry Kardovsky. He then attended the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Russian Academy of Arts in Leningrad.

While still studying, he worked as a poster artist for Izogiz an in 1930 he worked as a film artist at Mosfilm. From 1934, he became a fixuture in all-Russian, all-Union and international exhibitions

Ivanov was named Meritorious Artist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (1955) and Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1958).
