Description

Finely executed large school girl map of Connecticut, drawn by Elizabeth Treadwell of the Christ Church Academy in Manhasset, New York.

The map is drawn from William Damerum's Map of the Southern part of the State of New York including Long Island, the Sound, the State of Connecticut, part of the State of New Jersey, and Islands adjacent: Compiled from actual late Surveys . . . . 1815 Notably, the size of the two maps is identical.

This is an exceptional example of the school girl map genre, both for its size and its use of a rare separately published map.
