Description
A bird's-eye view of the Hotel del Coronado graces the cover of this vintage travel brochure.
The former Coronado Country Club, which extended golfing privileges to hotel guests, is presumably shown by the golfers on North Island, although the course was on the southern side of the Spanish Bight, filled in 1941.
As is often the case with coastal San Diego resorts, the agreeable climate is emphasized. Another line about Coronado's easy distance, "3 hours from Hollywood and Los Angeles," helps bolster the del Coronado's reputation as a destination for the stars.
The bright sloops of Coronado's Rainbow Fleet are pictured, along with the tennis courts, pool area, and lushly-planted courtyard.
