Vintage brochure issued by Hav-A-Kar Economy Car Rental, Inc., with a pictorial route map of California and, on the verso, Los Angeles. The Santa Monica Freeway is not shown. La Jolla's Casa de Manana, since 1953 a private retirement community, is listed as a hotel under "Where to Stay — Where to Eat." In Santa Barbara, The Samarkand went through a similar transformation in 1955. The Twizzle Twig, a tearoom that closed in 1947, is listed for Pasadena.
Hav-A-Kar, sold to Thrifty in the 1980s, was started by David Shane, who also opened the former Sunset Strip burger joint Alfie's.

Some wear along folds, including two pinholes along central vertical fold at uppermost crossfolds.
