Description

Pamphlet promoting tourism to Southern California. Produced by the All-Year Club of Southern California.

First image features a map of Southern California from Mono County to San Diego County. All counties are named in elegant cursive script, with borders defined in dot-dash lines. The state and national highways are shown in bold black. Large towns along the highways are shown as are tourist locations like Josua Tree and the Mojave Desert. Sprinkled throughout the blank regions is small text that describes a notable agricultural production of the area such as wildflowers, grapes, or avocadoes. Around this map is text that describes each county and lists some activities to do in them.

The verso features a collage of scenic Southern California photographic images. These show people frolicking in fields of wildflowers, going to the beach, night scenes of major cities, and tourist attractions in SoCal. All these images are accompanied by a sentence that describes and entices a reader to try these activities themselves. To the right of these images is a section of text that further advertises southern California and tells people that they can visit any season of the year. The next section promotes the All-Year Club which provided guidance for tourists in the area. An interesting cartoon at the bottom is followed by a bolded warning that no plants or fruits are allowed to be brought into California due to the harm it could have on local agriculture.
