Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Description

With Flags of the Orange Free State, Transvaal and Union Jack

Rare map of a portion of Southern Africa, issued by the Revista Portugueza Colonial e Maritima (Portuguese Colonial and Maritime Magazine).

Published separately, this was the first of a 3 sheet series that was advertised in 1899, although we were not able to find any information suggesting that the successive sheets were issued.

The map provides a fine depiction of the topographical and hydrographical features of the region, in the first year of the Second Boer War.

Rarity

The map is apparently quite rare. This is the first example we have seen.
