Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Detailed map of the region, showing counties, towns, rivers, roads, mountains, bridges, lakes, post offices, court houses, and a host of other information.

The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge was active from the 1830s through the 1870s and published some of the best regional maps of the era.

Condition Description

Minor toning at edges. Cut to the neatline on the right edge, just touching the engraving credit.

Louisiana by David Hugh Burr, engraved by Illman & Co. and published in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1834, presents an early and detailed depiction of the state during its nascent stages of development. With a conspicuous representation of its primitive parish system, especially in the northern and western sectors, this map showcases seven dominant parishes ruling vast expanses of the region.
