A Hand Drawn Map of "The Gulf of Mexico and Neighboring Regions"

Finely executed large hand drawn map of a large portion of the United States, Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, etc.  drawn by "J.A. van Iterson."

The map is executed in the cartographic configuration of the Guillaume De L'Isle popularized at the beginning of the 18th Century, but perpetuated by his heirs (Buache and Dezauche) and imitators (Covens & Mortier, Albrizzi, Senex, Van der Aa, Lotter, Seutter, Homann and others) for the next hundred years.

We surmise that this work was executed by a student studying geography in the Netherlands, although it is also possible that the map was created in conjunction with  the boarding school of J.E. van Iterson in Aarlanderveen.

The map is quite large for a student work.
