Description

Rare original antique map of the southern part of Alberta, showing the province in magnificent detail. The map was published in the 1910s by Sifton, Praed & Co at The Map House in London.

This separately-published linen-backed map was beautifully designed, with nice, bright colors and extensive detail. Counties, towns, cities, rivers, and other features are named. Township divisions are shown. The map extends as far north as Edmonton.

This section of the map was likely custom-ordered by a client of Sifton, Praed & Co, who wanted a map to focus on a particular part of Canada. This map post-dates the construction of the Pacific Grand Trunk Pacific Railway in 1914.
