Description
Scarce Pictorial map of the Old West, illustrated by M. Martin Johnson.
The map is keyed to high points and high spots in the history of the American West, from Lewis & Clark, the Vigilantes of Montana and John C. Fremont to Death Valley and the Overland Trail, Santa Fe Trail and Chisholm Trail.
Each of the routes and historical vignettes is keyed with a marker and vignette on the map.
M. Martin Johnson created other graphics for the National Parks, including Mount Rushmore, Mount Rainier, Carlsbad Caverns, and "Our National Parks," copyrighted in 1957.
