Interesting map of the Fiji Islands, surrounded by decorative vignettes of local importance, which was intended as a children's gift for raising money for Christmas gifts for the children of Wesleyan-Methodist parishioners in the winter of 1852.

The map was announced in the 1852 Wesleyan-Methodist Magazine (at p. 1237) and prepared as a gift item for those participating in the collection of juvenile Christmas offerings, with the following notice:

CHRISTMAS AND NEW- YEAR'S JUVENILE OFFERINGS.

The Ministers and friends of the Society are earnestly desired to direct and favour the exertions of the children and young people, that they may succeed in making their annual Offering more large and liberal this year than in any former year. Christmas Collecting- Cards, and an Illustrated Map of Feejee, to be presented to the Collectors of one shilling and upwards, are furnished on application to all Ministers and officers of the Society , and through them to the children and young people of every congregation.
