Description

Finely executed pictorial map of the campus of Princeton University, published by the Princeton University Press in 1952.

The map is the largest part of a series of maps that include maps of the Borough and Township of Princeton, intended for visitors to the University.

The map of the campus is oriented with southeast at the top and elegantly locates 74 points of interest, each of which is identified with a number in red corresponding to the key below the map.

Richard Stockton Snedeker (1927-2020) was worked for briefly for the Princeton University Press as a technical illustrator and editor, before beinning work at Aeronautical Research Associates of Princeton (ARAP), where he spent his 40-year career working in the field of experimental fluid dynamics.  He published nearly 100 papers and received five U. S. patents. He retired from ARAP in 1997.
