Interesting map of the Southwestern United States, intended to illustrate the buying power of the populations of each county in the region centered on Dallas.
The map covers New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana and large parts of Mississippi and Tennessee, and of course Texas.
A note below the title provides "Circles drawn to scale represent total effective buying income for each county in Sales Management's Annual Survey of Buying Power (May 15, 1945)."
The map was likely published to illustrate the information in The Dallas Southwest; a compilation and graphic presentation of facts relating to the nation's third most important economic region, published in about 1945.
