Minnesota's Greatest Attraction --- Her Fish

Wonderful vintage Minnesota pictorial map made by Bud Matthes for the Minneapolis Star Journal, issued as a supplement to the paper on June 2, 1940.

The map includes cartoon vignettes covering Minnesota's tourist attractions, industries, agricultural products, etc. The map calls Minnesota the "Breadbasket of the world" and the "Butter tub of the United States".

An inset to the right of the map shows 14 fish that are targeted by sports fishermen. 

As it was issued as a newspaper supplement the present map is a very scarce survival from the Golden Age of American pictorial mapmaking.
