San Francisco Bay in 1845.
Rare map of the Pacific Ocean, with a large highly detailed inset map of San Francisco Bay.
The map is largely drawn from a map which was issued by Duflot du Mofras (Wheat 474), but with the addition of the large inset of the area around San Francisco, in 4 years prior to the California Gold Rush.
The inset view is also drawn directly from Duflot du Mofras and offers a finely detailed treatment of the Bay area for the period,

This is the first time have ever seen this map and can find no references to it in any source.
