Description

Decorative pictorial map of the Northern Idaho and Northwestern Montana, drawn by Marie McLean and lithographed by Ross Hall Scenics, Sandpoint, Idaho, copyrighted on March 18, 1966.

The top right of the map is dedicated to a lengthy note on the history of the region, dating back to David Thompson, in 1909.

The map focuses on the History and recreational opportunities in the region, extending from the Selkirk and Purcell Mountains on the Canadian Border, to the Coeur d'Alene area.

A number of skiers highlight the alpien and cross country ski areas. The 1965 Girl Scout Roundup and 1967 Boy Scout Jamboree location at Farragut National Park are noted.

The bottom of the map is a view of an idyllic recreational lake scene.
