Eyles Irwin (1751-1817) was an Irish Poet and Writer, who spent the majority of his professional career with the British East India Company. Born in Calcutta, he joined the East India Company in Madras in 1767. Over time, he rose to become the Superintendent of the Company's affairs in China.
