Description

Attractive unrecorded broadside for an auction of residential lots (the Old Fair Ground), between Hill Street and Connally Street.

The land is located just east of the modern Turner Field, between Grant Lake Park and Pioneer II Park.

The map denotes the location of 75 lots for sale, along with the location a school, stable and third building at the corner of Fair and Connally. The broadside notes that:

The streets are all handsomely worked out, and the lots staked off. . . . All the friends of our City Fathers,m and of Oglethorpe College, and everybody who wants a nice lot with undoubted titles and on accommodating terms, are invited to attend.

Conveaynces will run to and from the ground and subtantial lunch and beveratges will be served under those fine shade trees by that cool branch that ripples through Grant's Lawn. Procure a map, select and lot, and be on hand. As this is the last day of Picnic May, it is confidently believed it will be the last rural gala day of the season.

G.W. Adair, Real Estate and Insurance Agent, 38, Alabama Street.
