The map extends from the Waco and Wichita Villages and the confluence ofhte Big and Little Wichita Rivers with the Red River in the West, to the Llano Estacado, tracing the routes of the Red River and the North Fork of the Red River. Includes dates showing the daily progress, along with a number of notes, place names, topographical details, etc. The Route of the Train to Preston and the part of the Route from Ft. Smith to Santa Fe are noted. The U.S. Army expedition commanded by Captain Marcy was the first to discover the source of the Red River.
