The map shows the railroad lines of the Great Northern, stretching from coast to coast, via the Red River Valley and on to Butte, Montana, Everett, Washington, Portland, Oregon, Seattle and Vancouver.
On the verso, a number of text panels promote different regions in the West, with inset maps for:
- Kootenai Country and Pend O'Reille Valley (Idaho, Montana and British Columbia)
- Chelan-Okanogan Basin (Wasington)
- Puget Sound
- The Flathead Valley

The map is apparently rare -- we were not able to locate another example.
