Description

An excellent map of the United States and Mexico immediately after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. In addition to the odd shaped Texas and New Mexico, the maps most interesting geo-political features is the marvelous large demarcated Indian Territory, extending to Cheyenne and Colorado. Massive Northwest Territory. Oddly shaped Upper California includes a carved out New Mexico, but no sign of Utah. Highly detailed Texas. The cartography of the west has been corrected to include post-Fremont information, but is still quite conjectural in its mix of fact and myth. Many Indian Tribes, early forsts, etc. A scarce and attractive map.
