One of the Earliest Maps of Scotland Engraved and Published in The British Isles
Finely executed map of Scotland, published by Richard Blome.
This important early map of Scotland appeared in the first edition of Blome's of 'Britannia', his series of county maps.
The map includes an elaborate cartouche, coat of arms, and a dedication 'To ye Rt. Noble James Duke of Monmouth, & Buckleugh, Earle of Doncaster & Dalkeith, Baron of Kendale, Winchester, & Ashdale, Knt. of ye Garter, Master of the Horse, and Privy Councellor to his Maty, &c.
Condition Description
Engraving on 17th-century laid paper. Original hand-coloring. Very minor signs of previous folds.
