Description

Fantastic promotional tract and map, promoting the Alfalfa growing opportunities in the Antelope Valley.

The present example incudes some annotaions in pencil near Lancaster, likely the notes of an early owner / speculator, perhaps J.L Davidson, to whom the pamphlet was addressed.

Includes a fantastic map and excellent promotional material on the Antelope Valley, produced by A. J. Rutledge and Sons, of Lancaster, California.

The map was prepared by George L. Taylor, Draughtsman (name on the left side of the map). Includes topographical detail, roads, railroad lines, school sites, Forest Reserve location, Dry Lake, and the location of the California Aqueduct and the Tehachapi Mountains.

Rarity

There are multiple editions. We previously handled a 1920 version. This example is from 1928.

The pamphlet is very rare. We note only the copy in the California Historical Society.
