Fine example of Carl Ferdinand Weiland's large format world atlas, with maps from the years 1827 to 1831.
The atlas includes including 2 double hemisphere world maps 39 European Maps, 7 African maps, 6 Asian Maps and 1 map of Oceana.
Weiland draws upon the most recent explorations and maps, with the regional maps of North America, South America, the United States, Africa and Asia all being quite exceptional.
Condition Description
Large folio. Title page, contents page and 60 double page maps. Contents lightly browned and somewhat foxed, in places somewhat heavier, isolated water stains in white margin. World maps lightly creased. Contemporary half-leather somewhat rubbed and spotted, spine and corners renewed using old material.
