Description

Aeronautical survey chart featuring the Shantung (Shandong) Peninsula, showing the area from the Great Wall on the Jehol-Hopeh (Rehe-Hebei) border, south to Tsingtao (Qingdao) and from Lintsing (Linqing) east to the Liaodong Peninsula, including Peiping (Beijing) and Tientsin (Tianjin). During the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945), this area was under Japanese rule.

The thick black dashed line (in long-short-short or — -- dashes) marks provincial boundaries between Hebei, Shangdong, Fengtien (Liaoning), and the Kwantung Leased Territory.

AtoNs (Aids to Navigation), such as lighthouses, buoys, and beacons, have their lighting abbreviation— flashing (Fl.), group flashing (Gp. Fl.), occulting (Occ.), and group occulting (Gp. Occ.).

Probably produced in India in relation to Allied bombing campaigns against occupied China.

Condition Description
Moderate foxing. Pen titling "Tsingtao to Shanhaikwan" in bottom margin. Minor stain above "Aeronautical Chart."
