The map illustrates the towns, recreational, ranching and historical history of the El Dorado County, including a body flying out of the Volcano at Volcanoville, a bear chasing a man up a tree in Grizzly Flats, and similar fun images. Events such as the Famous Bullion Bend Robbery of 1864, Fremont's Route in 1844, the 1849 Emmigrant Road, Discovery of Gold in 1848 and Pony Express Route of 1860-62 are also highlighted.
The remainder of the brochure promotes places of interest and tourism in the county.
