Description
Highly detailed map of California and Nevada, from an early edition of Rand McNally's Business Atlas.
This map is probably the most detailed map of the two states to appear in a 19th Century Atlas. The detail is truly remarkable, far out distancing any prior map in detail and accuracy.
Includes hundreds of towns, rivers, lakes, mountains, roads, railroads, railway stations, Indian reservations, forts, mines, ferry points across rivers, irrigation canals, lava fields and a host of other details. Many of the towns named in the map are now ghost towns or have otherwise disappeared from the map.
A nice example of this scarce early map of California and Nevada.
