Description

Iconic, troubling World War II propaganda poster personifying the threat posed by Nazi Germany to the United States.

The poster shows three young children threatened by looming Nazism. The three children play with toys and a flag on a lawn dotted with small white flowers. A swastika looms over them, casting a shadow on the scene. One of the boys grips a toy plane, while another wears a paper hat and brandishes a flag on a makeshift pole. The girl sits and cradles a doll. Only the older boy seems to perceive the danger they all face.

This poster powerfully conveys the threat of Nazism to the future of America and reminds us of the sacrifices made by those who fought to protect its freedom and safety.
