Tren Ergeben Hecht (1875-1937), styled a photographic copyist, was a commercial photographer in San Francisco who specialized in making photographic copies of early and rare historical photographs. The present two photographs were copied by Hecht from original photographs made by pioneer San Francsico photographer George Robinson Fardon. They show 1856 scenes of Montgomery and Washington Streets, and Morris & Mitchell Streets, respectively.
