Description

Handsome bird's-eye view of Lawrence, Kansas by D.O. Morris, lithographed in Chicago by William Zeuch & Co.

A numbered key identifies 33 prominent businesses, residences, and churches. A number of streets are named.

In each of the lower corners are inset views. In the left corner is a view of the Bismark Grove Tabernacle. In the right corner is a view of Lawrence in 1855. The latter has a corresponding 21-point key associated with it.

Rarity

OCLC locates 2 copies (University of Kansas and SMU-Degolyer). There is an example at the Clements as well.

Condition Description
Four-stone color lithograph on wove paper. Small amount of toning and dampstain around the edges. Minor overall toning.
