Description

Treason is Punishable by Death!

A chilling reminder of the punishment for treason during World War II.  This broadside, issued by the Office of the Provost Marshal General of the War Department, has the words "Warning"; "Sabotage"; "Punishable by 30 Years' Imprisonment, $10,000 Fine, or Both"; and "Treason is Punishable by Death" boldly printed in red.  The remainder of the text summarizes the definition of treasure per U.S. Code:

a. Deliberately doing any act which may injure, interfere with, or obstruct the United States or any allied nation in carrying on the war, by injuring or destroying war material, war premises, or war utilities.

b. Deliberately injuring, interfering with, or obstructing the United States or any allied nation in carrying on the war, by making or causing to be made in a defective manner, any war material or any article used in the making or repairing of any war material.

A stark and in-your-face artifact from WWII.
