Scarce early map of Wisconsin prepared by the godfather of that state's cartography, Increase Lapham, for the 1868 Legislative Manual.

The map shows an early county configuration, cities with over 300 inhabitants, county seats, and completed and projected railroad projects.

Maps such as these were important for tracking the county boundaries and general development of the state during a period of explosive growth.

The map was lithographed by H. Seifert of Milwaukee.

The back of this map is extensively illustrated with charming pencil illustrations.
