Signal Hill Oil & Gas Promotional
With Map of Signal Hill Oil Fields, Long Beach
A scarce Los Angeles oil and gas company promotional brochure directed toward the wise investor: "A Ten to One Shot...This is your opportunity to become a SHARE HOLDER of SIGNAL HILL OIL & GAS...."
The map is a street map of part of Long Beach, noting the various properties of companies operating in and around the famous Signal Hill oil fields: Shell, Walker Western Oil Co., Vernon Oil Company, Sanberg, Dabney Oil Company, and of course the 20 acres of the Signal Hill Oil & Gas Co.
The text states that the Company's holdings on Signal Hill, which were located adjoining the Shell Company's test well, consisted of 19.76 acres: "Room enough for one well and ten more, with a good chance for all to be producers."
An illustration depicts the Company's derrick under construction, "within 1500 feet of the Shell Company's BIG Discovery Well."
W. L. Freres was president of the Company.
