Description
Attractive original antique view of the city of Naples in southern Italy, showing the city from the south. This view was engraved by Pierre Aveline, one of the foremost engravers of the 18th century.
The view shows many ships in the harbor, highlighting the importance of this city at a time in which it was head of its own kingdom. Many churches, towers, and other buildings are visible in the city before it gives way to fields. A key at the bottom lists 15 places of interest.
