Striking birdseye view style maps of Long Beach and Greater Los Angeles, published by the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.

This well illustrated promotional pamphlet features a bird's eye view map of Los Angeles County with Long Beach centrally located at the lower edge and another map of the City of Long Beach California, each designed by Mary Hall Atwood and bordered with numerous vignette illustrations of points of interest.

The verso contains information on how to "Make Long Beach Your Vacation Headquarters."

Rarity

While Mary Atwood's map of Los Angeles published for the 1932 Olympics appears on the market, this Long Beach map is much rarer. This is the second example we have offered in over 20 years.

A fabulous color satellite image of Los Angeles, taken 450 miles from the surface of the earth. The scope of the image ranges from the San Fernando Valley to Laguna Beach, and inland past Riverside. The image was taken by EOSAT and printed at a scale of one inch to two and a third miles. The map preserves a fantastic view of the metropolis, surrounded by mountains, lakes, and ocean.
