American Relief for Norway (ARNI)
Originally called Norwegian Relief Inc., ARNI was formed in Chicago on April 19, 1940, 10 days after the invasion of Norway, with an initial goal of raising $1,000,000 in aid for Norway. The organization grew to a network of state and local committees, which encouraged donations through different campaigns, including money, clothing and other distributions.
The organization was active until its dissolution in May 1947.
