Description
Vintage pictorial map of Sanibel and Captiva Islands on the west coast of Florida, printed in Fort Myers, Florida, for the Sanibel-Captiva Islands Business Association.
The map highlights the shell-collecting to be done on the islands, with the verso including illustrations of four rare shells to be found there. The back of the map also includes a general map of Florida locating the islands in context.
The map was made in 1956, before the completion of the Sanibel Causeway Bridge in 1963.
Maps of this popular vacation spot are rare; this being the first time we have had one.
