Description
Interesting World War II-era map intended to illustrate to U.S. citizens the importance of Central and South America to the country.
The map includes "Principal Basic and Strategic Commodities of Central and South America" on one side and "Resources for Victory" on the other.
At the time the map was made, there was a concern within the U.S. government about Axis incursions and influence in South America. Maps such as the present were published to help build the public will to defend South and Central America from attack if that was needed.
