Description

An excellent wide margined example of Mount & Page's Chart of the region between the southern part of Florida and Jamaica, centered on the Bahamas and Cuba. The map includes a wonderful example of the Archipelago of Florida, as well as a detailed treatment of the Windward Passage and Bahamas. As a working chart which appeared in the English Pilot, IV Book, the map is primarily concerned with the coastal details of the region, including soundings, shoals, bays, anchorages, currents, etc, although a fair amount of topographical details is provided for Cuba and Florida. Nice large inset of Havana Harbor. Minor offsetting, as usual. Nice treatment of a number of the minor islands, including the Caymans. An essential map for collectors.
