Description

Interesting mid 18th Century map of the earth's orbit around the sun, in double hemisphere style. Several Zodiac symbols shown. A scarce and interesting map, which we have never previously seen. The date is conjecture, based upon the paper and the cartography, most notably of Australia.

(South Sea Bubble) Vonnis Van Apol Over De Bubbels [Verdict of Apollo Regarding the Bubbles]

This 1720 broadside, titled "Vonnis Van Apol Over De Bubbels," offers a satirical snapshot of the South Sea Bubble financial crisis. This engraving features Apollo presiding over a divine judgment of financially ruined investors and dealers. Hercules is depicted meting out punishment, and the damned are shown being deported to Hades. Three coats-of-arms representing Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Rotterdam, are displayed amongst a group of women, symbolizing the widespread impact of the economic collapse.

Fine 1971 map of the world prepared under the direction of the Department of Defense by the Aeronautical Chart and Information Center (ACIC) of the United States Air Force for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This map was created as part of the support material for the Skylab space missions that took place during the early 1970s.
