In the top left is an inset map of the entrance to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, with a table mentioning the main places: Church of Ciboure (spelled Sibouré), N. Lady Bordagain (Bourdaguain), " quarry where one makes the stone for Socoa ", church of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, or" place where one bastit the ships ". In the bay there is the mention "ycy on sembarque pour la pesche des balaine".
The map is decorated with a compass rose and two galleons. Geographer and French genealogist, Jean Boisseau was illuminator of the king.
The map is from Boisseau's Théâtre des Gaules, published in 1642.
