The map includes columns of zodiac symbols at the sides of the map, with historical vignettes in a second column immediately inside the zodiac symbols.
The map is centered on the intersection of Market Street and Main Street.
Vassar College appears at the top of the map, with the Hudson River and Lake Mohonk at the bottom.
Stylistically, the map is quite unusual for the period and genre.
