Description:

Marvelous pair of large scale maps of the Western Hemisphere, showing the known World on the eve of the Voyages of Captain James Cook.

The Northwest Coast of America is still largely unknown.  Similarly, the coastal features and the third island of New Zealand are largely undiscovered.

There is no sign of any part of the Antarctic Coastline.

To his credit, D'Anville was a very disciplined mapmaker, so there is virtually no conjecture or myth in the details given in this map.

Condition Description: Minor marginal tears, just touching neatline and some minor mis-creasing along the centerfold.
