Scarce map of the Los Angeles Basin, showing parts of Los Angeles and Orange counties.
The map extends south to Newport Beach (Anaheim Landing is noted), with only a small grid locating Westminster in Orange County.
Further north, the map reachest east to Azusa and Whittier.
Northwest of Glendale, the town of Redcastle appears. To the south of Glendale, the town of Tropico is named, as are Gatson, Threemile House, Bennington, Jeffrey and Morgan, all apparently stops on the Terminal RR, Glendale Branch.
To the west, in the Estuary which would become Marina Del Rey, etc., Mochado and Port Ballona still appear. Further South, Redondo is the only community note north of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Excellent detail of the rapidly growing region on a scale of 1 mile to the inch.
The alkali map indicates six different degrees of alkalinity, again via color and pattern.
