Description

Fascinating map of the Northwest, which is actually a section of a wall map of the United States, first published by Rogers & Johnston in the 1850s.

The map underwent several updates during and after the Civil War, before finding its way to the United States.

The map includes remarkable detail, showing forts, Indian Tribal Lands and Reservations, mountains w/elevations, rivers, early villages and early roads and train routes. The engraving style also demonstrates a greater attention to topographic detail than was present in contemporary American maps.

Idaho has only 8 Counties. Most of the Eastern counties in Washington and Oregon are not yet formed .
